The minimum ICT accessibility standard for the Government of Canada is:
- In May 2024 Accessible Standards Canada adopted the CAN/ASC - EN 301 549:2024 Accessibility requirements for ICT products and services (EN 301 549:2021, IDT) as a National Standard of Canada. The CAN/ASC standard is the same as the EN 301 549 (2021-03), which includes WCAG 2.1 (Level AA).
Phase 1 of the ICT accessibility regulations under the Accessible Canada Act
Published in December 2025. Refer to the regulations for the GC implementation effective dates.
